Job Description: Language Translator for Courses

Position Summary
The Language Translator serves Shepherds Global Classroom by translating SGC courses from English into another language with accuracy, clarity, and faithfulness to the original meaning. The goal is to produce high-quality theological and ministry training materials that are understandable, culturally contextualized, and usable in local church contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate SGC course materials (textbooks, answer keys, and supplemental resources) from English into the target language.
- Maintain theological accuracy and preserve the intended meaning of the original content.
- Use consistent terminology, especially for biblical, theological, and ministry terms.
- Follow SGC translation guidelines and approved terminology lists.
- Review and revise translations based on feedback from SGC Project Managers and SGC staff proofers.
- Meet agreed-upon deadlines for assigned projects.
- Communicate clearly with SGC Project Managers regarding questions or clarification needs.
Qualifications
- Strong Christian Testimony and pastoral recommendation.
- Fluency in English and native or near-native proficiency in the target language.
- Strong writing skills in the target language.
- Strong computer skills and consistent internet connection.
- Understanding of Christian theology and ministry terminology.
- Experience in translation work (preferred).
- Careful attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
